to ensure the future
Safety is crucial for products (e.g. aircraft), and installations (e.g. oil platform). Safe product developers address this requirement throughout a product’s life cycle: specification, design, implementation, commissioning, operation and disposal.
Safe product developers use best practices designed by safety advisers. These best practices complement the processes and guidelines defined by international safety standards (ISO, IEC...). These advisers also improve these safety practices by learning from feedback.
Safety should not be established a posteriori, by noting the absence of an accident. It must be demonstrated to users and authorities a priori by engineers and managers, providing assurance of an actual reasonable risk.
To give an authorization (e.g. certification of an aircraft or operation of an installation), the authorities analyze the evidence provided by the safety assurance managers to ensure an acceptable risk.
In business, knowledge is only useful if it can be transformed into practice.
Different perspectives on safety are addressed: qualitative, quantitative, managerial; modelling and technologies; human and organizational.
Industrial knowledge, including international standards, is emphasized.
Various applications illustrate the many sectors associated with the course: transport, energy, production, communication, etc.
New knowledge is immediately put into practice through case studies and projects from the industry.
SEAM welcomes students from all over the world
From North Macedonia, working in Germany
The program welcomes different backgrounds. It gives a unique opportunity to obtain knowledge that is ‘a door opener’ in many different industrial branches.
From Bolivia, working in France
The training gives you the big picture thanks to specialists with different experiences to enrich your skills.
From South Korea
Numerous case studies address real situations. Working in groups allows solutions to be discussed and team member skills to be improved.
From Iran, working in France
Having trainees all around the world creates a very dynamic and creative environment to deal with safety topics with international perspectives.
From India, working in France
My internship in the field of autonomous vehicles was challenging, but also a highly educational experience.
My first job was in Norway in the oil and gas industry. I am currently working in BASF Regional Asia Pacific as HSE and Process Safety Lead.
SEAM is a great program, attending modules with real professionals from different industries has a completely different scope compared to the academic one.
