A diversity of professions
to ensure the future
Safe Product
Developer
Safety is crucial for products (e.g. aircraft), and installations (e.g. oil platform). Safe product developers address this requirement throughout a product’s life cycle: specification, design, implementation, commissioning, operation and disposal.
Safety
Adviser
Safe product developers use best practices designed by safety advisers. These best practices complement the processes and guidelines defined by international safety standards (ISO, IEC...). These advisers also improve these safety practices by learning from feedback.
Safety
Assurance
Safety should not be established a posteriori, by noting the absence of an accident. It must be demonstrated to users and authorities a priori by engineers and managers, providing assurance of an actual reasonable risk.
Safety
Authorities
To give an authorization (e.g. certification of an aircraft or operation of an installation), the authorities analyze the evidence provided by the safety assurance managers to ensure an acceptable risk.
Industry-based
training
In business, knowledge is only useful if it can be transformed into practice.
Different perspectives on safety are addressed: qualitative, quantitative, managerial; modelling and technologies; human and organizational.
Industrial knowledge, including international standards, is emphasized.
Various applications illustrate the many sectors associated with the course: transport, energy, production, communication, etc.
New knowledge is immediately put into practice through case studies and projects from the industry.
